HAVANA, Cuba — He died leading the war of independence against Spain 123 years ago, but Jose Martí might still be the most famous person in Cuba. His image is everywhere on the island — in museums, schools, government buildings, public parks. In this podcast, we talk to artists who recreate Martí’s image and ask why he’s still so prevalent in Cuba today.
